Day on the train
I woke up too late. I ate breakfast in a hurry, pack things I’ve unpacked and left the place.
I checked Uber and other ways of transport and none of them was actually faster than walking.
I had about 20 minutes before the train leaves and I basically have to hurry.
I almost ran to the station 4 minutes before the train leaves but…
It turned out that my train has 2-hour delay. I was pissed and sweated.
Waiting – part 1
I went to the Burger King and tried to do some work on my laptop, but the internet connection was almost non-existent so I couldn’t do much.
I opened my favorite app RealTimeBoard and started to work on my company – I started to create user profiles. To be exact my company customer profiles – their story, needs, and goals.
Waiting – part 2
After around 1h 40 minutes I was ready to go to the train. I looked at the departure board and noticed that the delay of my train was extended to 3 hours. God damn it.
I came back to work. I wanted to call with my colleagues, especially It was the last day of my Project Manager who was the best PM I’ve ever had, but there was no stable internet connection there.
Waiting – part 3
After another hour of offline work, I packed things up again and went check the board is the delay wasn’t extended once again. And it was…
The board showed 226 minutes of delay. That’s 4 hours. I bought a burger for a trip and went to a station 20 minutes before the estimated time of arrival.
There is a train!
Fortunately, the 226 minutes of the delay was no longer extended. The train arrived. Too bad I have about 6.5h long trip before me, after 4 hours of waiting for the train. Great, whole day on the road.
Already tired, I unpacked the laptop and started to work on the Saturday’s workshops.
Working on the train
After a few hours, I had almost done. I decided to take a break and watch an interview with Gary Vaynerchuk as a part of 30 days of GEnius created by Creative Live. I was an avid viewer of Gary Vee not long ago, so most of the interview was hearing the same things over and over again. There were few interesting parts so it was entertaining and knowledgeable at the same time.
I had 3 more hours to kill in the train so I decided to start doing Value Proposition Canvas for my company based on the user profiles that I’ve already started doing.
After an hour staring at my phone, I got tired of doing anything
The rest of the trip I rehearsed the workshop agenda and stared at the window.
At the end of the trip, I ordered food from my favorite restaurant in Poznan. All the delays extended almost to the time of closing the restaurant, so I wanted to make sure I’m going to eat there.
My train arrived at 7.45pm and the restaurant was closing at 8pm. I had 15 minutes walk in front of me. I had to get going fast. Another quick walk this day. I arrived at the restaurant just before closing and took my food to go.
I went to the apartment which was top-notch. I quickly ate the food and went for a long shower.
I was exhausted. I sent the workshop’s materials and presentation to the colleague who is helping me with the weekend event.
After some youtube entertainment (Lately, I started to watch Gordon Ramsey Hell’s kitchen) I went to sleep.
Plan for #026
Tomorrow is going to be more relaxing. I don’t have to go anywhere 😉
